Different types of fabric is neccessary depending on the elements in which the clothing will be worn. For example, if you will be wearing your BDUs in a cold climate you would be apt to choose the Swat cloth that is made of 65% polyester / 35% cotton blend. This blend offers some wind resistance and is a slightly heavier fabric.Many people, on the other hand, only prefer to wear a certain type of fabric. Some will say that the 100% cotton ripstop is a much more comfortable fabric. This is just customer preference. Below you will see the major differences between the types of fabric. Basic Issue is constructed of 100% made in the USA fabric featuring top quality workmanship. Military Division / Genuine Issue is constructed in the USA to rigid Government Specs from US made fabric and materials. The Swat Cloth is a 65% polyester / 35% cotton Ripstop. This is the fabric of choice for federal agencies. This fabric is breathable, wind resistant, resists fading, tearing and abrasions, and resists wrinkles. The 100% Cotton RipStop helps to resists and reduce tears and abrasions. This fabric, like all cotton fabrics, may fade over time. No refunds will be given on this fabric due to color. The Cotton / Polyester Twill is a heavier fabric than 100% cotton rip stop and does help to reduce fading. |
